A seminar for wrestling coaches was held in Shirvan

The nationwide seminar for wrestling coaches continues.
The next stage of the seminar was held in the city of Shirvan. In addition to Shirvan, coaches from Bilasuvar, Hajigabul, Neftchala, and Salyan districts also participated in the event. The theoretical part of the seminar took place in the conference hall of the Shirvan-Salyan Regional Youth and Sports Department. The director of the department, Rovshan Mehraliyev, welcomed the guests, expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation (AWF) for organizing the seminar, and emphasized that it would make a significant contribution to the development of coaches in the region.
AWF’s regional coordinator Elfaq Safarov and the head of the Referees Collegium, Garib Aliyev, spoke about the work done by the federation and future plans. Rovshan Umudov, head coach of the youth and junior girls’ national team, and Zohrab Abbasov, coach of the U-20 Greco-Roman national team, shared their experiences with local coaches and provided recommendations. I-S category referee Sadi Quliyev analyzed controversial episodes from various competitions. In turn, local experts highlighted the existing problems in the region and made suggestions.
The practical part of the seminar took place at the Shirvan Olympic Sports Complex. Here, Sadi Quliyev explained several points on the mat from a referee’s perspective. Rovshan Umudov conducted a freestyle wrestling training session, while Zohrab Abbasov led a Greco-Roman wrestling practice.
It should be noted that the next seminar will be held in Quba on November 14.
