A seminar for wrestling coaches was held in Mingachevir

The republican seminar of wrestling coaches continues.

The next stage of the seminar was held today in the city of Mingachevir. The event was attended by wrestling coaches-teachers operating in the mentioned city, as well as in the Agdash, Goychay, Kurdamir, Ujar, Yevlakh and Zardab regions.

The theoretical part of the seminar was held at the Mingachevir Youth House. Kamal Najafli, Deputy Head of the Central Aran Regional Youth and Sports Department, made a speech and thanked the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation (AWF) for this project and wished that such seminars would become a tradition. Garib Aliyev, Chairman of the AWF Referees’ Board, spoke about the steps taken by the federation to develop wrestling in the regions. Then, Hasrat Mammadyarov, coach of the women’s wrestling junior and youth national team, and Elbrus Mammadov, coach of the U-17 Greco-Roman wrestling national team, delivered their recommendations to the regional coaches. They emphasized the consequences of imposing too much weight on young athletes, and also emphasized that this process hinders the work of national team coaches. I-S category referee Sadi Guliyev showed videos from various competitions and commented on the decisions made by the judges.

The practical part of the seminar was held at the “Kur” Olympic Training and Sports Center. First, H. Mammadyarov, and then E. Mammadov, underwent exemplary training in freestyle wrestling.

It should be noted that the next stage of the All-Republican seminar of wrestling coaches will be held tomorrow in the city of Gabala.
