A seminar for wrestling coaches was held in Guba

The Nationwide Seminar for Wrestling Coaches Continues

The next stage of the seminar was held today in the city of Quba. Wrestling coach-teachers from Quba, as well as Khachmaz, Gusar, Siyazan, and Shabran districts, participated in the event.

In the theoretical part of the seminar, Mustafa Nuhbalayev, Deputy Head of the Quba-Khachmaz Regional Youth and Sports Department, spoke first. He emphasized the great importance of holding such events regularly to further develop wrestling in the country. Qarib Aliyev, Chairman of the Referees’ Board of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation (AWF), discussed the steps taken by the AWF to achieve quantitative and qualitative growth in this sport. Rovshan Hajiyev, the coach of the U-20 freestyle wrestling national team, and Elvin Mursaliev, the coach of the Greco-Roman wrestling national team, shared their experiences with their colleagues. Later, Category I-S referee Sadi Guliyev commented on decisions made in challenging situations during matches.

In the practical part of the seminar, an exemplary training session was conducted for athletes from the region. R. Hajiyev demonstrated precise execution of techniques in freestyle wrestling, while E. Mursaliev showcased techniques in Greco-Roman wrestling.

It should be noted that the next stage of the nationwide seminar for wrestling coaches will be held on November 18 in the city of Sumgayit.
