6 medals and 2nd place in the team standings
 
The “Champions” tournament for juniors (U20) held in Antalya, Turkey, has concluded.
On the final day of competition, our Greco-Roman wrestlers in the 63 kg, 82 kg, and 130 kg categories competed.
As in the first and second days, the last day also resulted in 1 silver and 1 bronze medal. Tural Ahmadov (63 kg) took second place, while Elmin Aliyev (82 kg) secured third.
Thus, our national team completed the traditional tournament with a total of 6 medals (3 silver, 3 bronze). In the previous days, Turan Dashdamirov (55 kg) and Aykhan Javadov (60 kg) won silver, while Vadat Gasimli (60 kg) and Ismail Rzayev (97 kg) earned bronze.
Under the guidance of head coach Nuraddin Rajabov and coaches Emin Ahmadov and Turaj Huseynli, our team, which traveled to Antalya, achieved 122 points and secured 2nd place in the team standings. Iran (128 points) took first, and Kyrgyzstan (115 points) came in third.
It should be noted that Category II international referees Khayal Aliyev and Kamran Bakhishov upheld fairness at the “Champions” tournament.
