5 Medals on the first day of the “Champions” tournament

On April 17, the “Champions” tournament kicked off in Antalya, Turkey.

On the first day of the traditional competition held among the U20 age group, five of our wrestlers reached the podium.

In freestyle wrestling, Haji Karimov (70 kg) won all his bouts to become the champion. Muhammad Ismayilov (57 kg) claimed a bronze medal.

In Greco-Roman wrestling, Roman Karimov (67 kg) gave no chance to his opponents and stood on the highest step of the podium. Competing in the same weight category, Murad Aliyev secured a bronze medal. Javidan Nahmatov (77 kg) finished the tournament with a silver medal.
