Freestyle wrestlers to prepare for world championships in Goygol

Azerbaijan’s national freestyle wrestling team will begin a training camp at the Goygol Olympic Sports Complex on September 20.

The preparation process will continue until October 3, with a particular focus on improving tactics and technique. Under the guidance of head coach Khetag Gazyumov, senior coach Jabrayil Hasanov, and coaches Taimuraz Kokoyev, Sharif Sharifov, and Arif Abdullayev, the following wrestlers will take part in the camp:

Islam Bazarganov and Huseyn Huseynov (both 57 kg), Nureddin Novruzov (61 kg), Rashid Babazade and Ali Rahimzade (both 65 kg), Kenan Heybatov and Zireddin Bayramov (both 70 kg), Turan Bayramov and Musa Verdiyev (both 74 kg), Jabrayil Hajiyev (79 kg), Arsenii Dzhioyev (86 kg), Ali Tsokayev and Abubakr Abakarov (both 92 kg), Magomedkhan Magomedov and Osman Nurmagomedov (both 97 kg), and Giorgi Meshvildishvili and Yusif Dursunov (both 125 kg).

It should be noted that the training camp is being held as part of the team’s preparations for the Senior World Championships, which will take place in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, from October 24 to November 1.
