Another national team begins training camp

Azerbaijan’s Greco-Roman wrestling national team will begin its next training camp tomorrow.

The training camp, which will be held at the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation’s training base, will focus primarily on improving tactics and technique.

The camp will run until September 22. Under the guidance of head coach Mohammad Bana, senior coach Nureddin Rajabov, and coaches Rovshan Bayramov, Sabah Shariati, Bahruz Hazratipur and Rasul Jazini, the following wrestlers will take part: Eldaniz Azizli, Farid Sadikhli, Emin Javadli (all 55 kg), Elmir Aliyev, Nihad Guluzada (both 60 kg), Nihat Mammadli, Ilkin Gurbanov, Tural Ahmadov, Ayxan Javadov (all 63 kg), Hasrat Jafarov, Farid Khalilov, Mahammad Shukurzada (all 67 kg), Ulvu Ganizade (72 kg), Sanan Suleymanov, Ruslan Nurullayev, Davud Mammadov, Javidan Nehmatov (all 77 kg), Gurban Gurbanov, Elmin Aliyev (both 82 kg), Islam Abbasov, Orkhan Hajiyev (both 87 kg), Emil Abbasov, Murad Ahmadzade (both 97 kg), Beka Kandelaki, Sarkhan Mammadov and Mazaim Mardanov (all 130 kg).

The training camp is part of the team’s preparations for the U23 World Championships, which will be held in Las Vegas, USA, from October 12 to 18, as well as the Senior World Championships, scheduled to take place in Astana, Kazakhstan, from October 24 to November 1.

It should be noted that Rashad Mammadov, Murad Mammadov (both 60 kg), Sakit Guliyev (63 kg), Tuncay Vazirzade (87 kg) and Arif Niftullayev (97 kg) are currently competing in the Bundesliga in Germany and will join the national team at the next training camp.
