Women’s national team prepares for the world championships in Quba

Our national women’s wrestling team has begun a training camp at the Quba Olympic Sports Complex.
The preparation phase, which includes both the senior and U23 age groups, will continue until September 19. The camp, focused on general and specific preparation, is being conducted under the guidance of acting head coach Toghrul Asgarov and coach Aghahuseyn Mustafayev.
The following wrestlers are taking part in the training camp: Khadija Gurban-zade and Nazrin Ahmadli (both 50kg); Nargiz Samadova, Fatima Bayramova and Esra Mammadli (all 53kg); Elnura Mammadova, Asmar Cankurtaran and Gultakin Shirinova (all 55kg); Jala Aliyeva, Garatel Guliyeva and Saadat Guliyeva (all 57kg); Gunay Gurbanova (59kg); Ruzanna Mammadova (62kg); Birgul Soltanova (65kg); and Zahra Karimzada (72kg).
It should be noted that the training camp, involving two age groups, is part of the team’s preparations for the U23 World Championships, which will be held from October 12 to 18 in Las Vegas, USA, as well as the Senior World Championships, scheduled to take place from October 24 to November 1 in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
