Silver and bronze medals to start the world championships

The U20 World Wrestling Championships are underway in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia.

The first medalists in Greco-Roman wrestling were determined on the second day of competition.

Tural Ahmadov (63 kg) left no chance for Finland’s Matias Arpiainen in the repechage, winning 8-0. In the evening session, Tural defeated Ecuador’s Klizman Veliz by a narrow 2-1 margin to claim the bronze medal.

Javidan Nehmatov (77 kg) faced Armenia’s Samvel Terteryan in the final. Losing to his opponent 1-1 on criteria, Cavidan secured the silver medal.
