Lineup announced for the world championships

The U20 World Wrestling Championships will be held in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, from August 16 to 23.

The Greco-Roman wrestling team will open the competition for Azerbaijan. Under the guidance of head coach Turaj Huseynli and coaches Emin Ahmadov, Hasan Aliyev and Akif Aliyev, Emin Javadli (55 kg), Ayhan Javadov (60 kg), Tural Ahmadov (63 kg), Murad Aliyev (67 kg), Kamran Rajabli (72 kg), Javidan Nehmatov (77 kg), Elmin Aliyev (82 kg), Orkhan Hajiyev (87 kg), Rihad Ibrahimli (97 kg) and Mikayil Ismayilov (130 kg) will represent Azerbaijan at the prestigious event.

The women’s wrestling team will join the competition next. Under the guidance of acting head coach Togrul Asgarov and head coach Agahuseyn Mustafayev, Esra Mammadli (53 kg), Gunay Gurbanova (57 kg), Ruzanna Mammadova (59 kg) and Zahra Karimzade (72 kg) will compete.

The freestyle wrestling competition will conclude the championships. Under the guidance of head coach Ashraf Aliyev and coaches Rovshan Hajiyev, Nazim Alijanov and Asgerkhan Novruzov, Mahammad Ismayilov (57 kg), Jamal Abbasov (61 kg), Bashir Verdiyev (65 kg), Haji Karimov (70 kg), Ismayil Rahimli (74 kg), Eljan Ismayilzada (79 kg), Mahammad Abbaszada (86 kg), Huseyn Mammadtaghizada (92 kg), Farhad Suleymanli (97 kg) and Yusif Dursunov (125 kg) will compete.

The morning session will begin at 12:00 Baku time, while the medal bouts will start at 20:00.

It should be noted that Category I referees Tural Aliyev and Vugar Shukurov will officiate at the World Championships.
