Ibrahim Hasanov finishes as world runner-up

The U17 World Wrestling Championships in Baku have come to an end.

On the final day of the competition, held at the National Gymnastics Arena, the medalists in the freestyle wrestling events at 45, 51, 60, 71 and 92 kg were determined.

Ibrahim Hasanov (51 kg) faced Iran’s Benjamin Mayvan in the final. Our wrestler lost 1-5 to his opponent and took home the silver medal.

Thus, our wrestlers finished the World Championships with a total of seven medals. Earlier in the tournament, Ali Javadli (45 kg), Abdurrahman Huseynli (51 kg) and Isfahan Hasanov (80 kg) won silver medals in Greco-Roman wrestling, while Omar Salmanov (48 kg), Elmir Cherkezov (60 kg) and Orkhan Habibli (65 kg) claimed bronze.
