Four medals on the opening day of the memorial tournament

The Hasan Gemici and Gazanfer Bilge Memorial Wrestling Tournament has got underway in Kocaeli, Türkiye.

On the opening day, the winners in the 57, 70, 86 and 125 kg freestyle categories and the 55, 67, 82 and 130 kg Greco-Roman categories were determined.

Four of our representatives reached the podium on the opening day of the traditional tournament. In freestyle wrestling, Ketag Karsanov (125 kg) won the silver medal, while Ramik Heybatov (70 kg) claimed bronze.

In Greco-Roman wrestling, both members of our national team competing at 130 kg finished among the top three. Sarkhan Mammadov won the silver medal, while Beka Kandelaki took bronze.

The tournament will conclude tomorrow.
