Three Azerbaijani wrestlers reach the European championship finals

The U20 European Wrestling Championships are continuing in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia.
On the sixth day of the competition, freestyle wrestlers in the 61 kg, 74 kg, 86 kg, 92 kg and 125 kg weight categories entered the competition.
Jamal Abbasov (61 kg) reached the final after defeating Austria’s Christian Zickel (12-2), Armenia’s Gagik Gagazaryan (10-0) and Italy’s Pasquale Liuzzi (10-0), all by technical superiority. Jamal will face Russia’s Usman Indirbayev in tomorrow’s final.
Nurlan Aghazade (74 kg) secured his place in the final with convincing victories over Kosovo’s Erand Fluqa (11-0), Hungary’s Mate Varga (10-0) and Turkey’s Umut Uslu (10-1). Nurlan will face Germany’s Manuel Wagin in the final.
Mahammad Abbaszade (86 kg) defeated Georgia’s Dachi Papinashvili (3-2) and Turkey’s Safa Jasur (5-1), but lost to Armenia’s Razmik Yepremyan in the semifinal on the last-points criterion (1-1). He will compete for the bronze medal tomorrow.
Huseyn Mammadtaghizade (92 kg) defeated Moldova’s Alexandru Bors (4-1) and Germany’s Abdurrahim Sekmen (3-0), but lost 0-10 to Russia’s Artur Togoyev in the semifinal. He will also compete for the bronze medal tomorrow.
Yusif Dursunov (125 kg) defeated Ukraine’s Ivan Miroshnichenko and Hungary’s Daniel Szilagyi by identical 10-0 scores, before overcoming Armenia’s Henrik Haykyan 6-1 to reach the final. Yusif will face Russia’s Soslan Gabuev in the decisive bout.
