Wrestling competitions conclude at the Schoolchildren’s Republic Sports Olympiad

The wrestling competitions at the Schoolchildren’s Republic Sports Olympiad, held in Azerbaijan for the first time and jointly organized by the Ministry of Science and Education and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, with the support of the Baku City Circuit Operations Company and the relevant sports federations, have concluded.

On the fifth and final day of the competition, held at the Azerbaijan Technical University Sports Hall, the medalists in the 41 kg, 48 kg, 57 kg, 68 kg and 85 kg weight categories of Greco-Roman wrestling were determined:

1. Yusif Mammadov (Balakan)
2. Movlud Mustafayev (ROIL)
3. Nariman Jafarzade (Lankaran), Afaddin Aমানov (Zangilan)

68 kg

1. Murad Novruzzade (UGIM-10)
2. Yusif Sadigov (Sumgayit, Education)
3. Said Nazarov (Jalilabad), Ibrahim Hasanov (Lankaran)

85 kg

1. Ismayil Mammadov (Zangilan)

It should be noted that, based on the final results of the three-day Greco-Roman wrestling competition, UGIM-2 took first place in the team standings with 120 points. Zangilan finished second with 91 points, while ROIL placed third with 88 points.
