Inspection of wrestling halls in Lankaran and Astara

As part of the ongoing efforts aimed at the development of wrestling in the regions, Secretary General of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation (AWF), Parvin Piriyev, and Vice President of the federation, Namig Abdullayev, paid a visit to the Lankaran and Astara districts.
During the visit, inspections were carried out at wrestling halls in Lankaran and Astara, where the officials closely reviewed the facilities’ material and technical infrastructure as well as the training process. Federation representatives also exchanged views with coaches regarding existing challenges and future plans.
The meetings included extensive discussions on further improving training conditions for athletes, equipping wrestling halls with the necessary inventory, including wrestling mats, creating new training facilities, and attracting sponsors who could support the development of wrestling in the regions. Proposals and initiatives put forward by the coaches were carefully considered, and discussions were held on addressing existing needs through a phased approach.
The AWF will continue implementing infrastructure projects in the regions with the aim of developing wrestling, enhancing athletes’ level of preparation, and improving the overall quality of the training process.
