The U15 European Wrestling Championships continue in Samokov, Bulgaria.

On the third day of competition, our girls’ team won 1 gold and 1 bronze medal.

Ulviyya Musayeva (33 kg) defeated Turkey’s Yamur Minaz by technical superiority (11:0) in the final to become European champion. With this victory, she made history as the first Azerbaijani female wrestler to win a U15 European title.

Madina Karimova (46 kg) defeated Russia’s Shanka Malchinova 5:2 in the repechage bout. Our representative then pinned Turkey’s Karin Guler in the bronze medal match to secure third place.

The final representative of our Greco-Roman wrestling team, Fikrat Bakhshaliyev (85 kg), finished just one step away from the podium. Our compatriot demonstrated his strength against Croatia’s Stefan Cavric in the repechage match, winning by technical superiority (9:0), but lost to Belarus’ Nikola Osipov in the bronze medal bout – 2:9.
