Huseyn and Pasha become European champions

The U15 European Wrestling Championships continue in Samokov, Bulgaria.

Today, two members of Azerbaijan’s Greco-Roman wrestling team stood on the top step of the podium.

Huseyn Amrahli (38 kg) became European champion after defeating Estonia’s Daniel Samuel by technical superiority in the final – 9:0.

Pasha Aslan (44 kg) also claimed the continental title by overcoming Armenia’s Pasha Khudoyan 4:1 in the decisive bout.

Punhan Shahmarov (48 kg) lost to Armenia’s Mihran Tatoyan (1:3) in the bronze medal match, while Sadiq Valizada (57 kg) was defeated by Georgia’s Giorgi Vashakmadze (4:8) in the battle for third place.

Raul Mammadzada (62 kg) earned a dominant 10:0 victory over Estonia’s Artemi Yeremeyev in the repechage bout, but later lost to Armenia’s Aleks Gevorqyan 5:8 and finished the competition in fifth place.
