Ulviyya Musayeva advances to the European championship final

The U15 European Wrestling Championships continue in Samokov, Bulgaria.

On the second competition day, finalists were determined in three Greco-Roman and five women’s wrestling weight categories.

Greco-Roman Wrestling

Ibrahim Mammadzada (68 kg) eliminated Greece’s Angelis Perdikaris (8:0), but lost to Russia’s Rustam Nekhai in the quarterfinals – 0:10.

Suleyman Verdiyev (75 kg) defeated Armenia’s Arman Ginosyan (4:1), however, he was beaten by Russia’s Ammar Mendokhov 2:10 in the quarterfinals.

Fikrat Bakhshaliyev (85 kg) suffered a 0:5 defeat against Türkiye’s Kerem Uzun in the round of 16. Since his opponent advanced to the final, Fikrat will compete in the repechage tomorrow.

Women’s Wrestling

Ulviyya Musayeva (33 kg) secured victories by fall over Poland’s Ines Szymczak and Ukraine’s Viktoriya Pervachuk. Our wrestler will face Türkiye’s Yagmur Minaz in tomorrow’s final.

Nargiz Jafarzada (39 kg) narrowly lost to Ukraine’s Sofiia Protsiv in the qualification round – 8:9.

Madina Karimova (46 kg) was defeated 3:9 by Moldova’s Rusalina Portaru in her debut bout. Since her opponent advanced to the final, Madina will wrestle in the repechage tomorrow.

Laman Aliyeva (54 kg) lost to Ukraine’s Tereza Tkachyshyn (0:10) in the round of 16, while Aylin Hasanli (62 kg) was defeated by Greece’s Elli Brousa (1:6) at the same stage.
