Huseyn and Pasha reach the European championship finals

The U15 European Wrestling Championships kicked off today in Samokov, Bulgaria.
On the opening day, the finalists in seven Greco-Roman weight categories were determined.
Huseyn Amrahli (38 kg) claimed dominant victories over Armenia’s Gor Karapetyan (9:0) and Bulgaria’s Ivan Alexandrov (8:0) before defeating Russia’s Ervin Sufianov 3:1 in the semifinals. Huseyn will face Estonia’s Daniel Samuel in the final.
Khudayar Karimov (41 kg) eliminated Finland’s Viliami Kotilaynen (5:3), but was forced to withdraw from his quarterfinal bout against Bulgaria’s Ognyan Burgazov due to an arm injury.
Pasha Aslan (44 kg) defeated Belarus’ Matvey Utlik (9:0) and Serbia’s Adam Horvat (9:1) by technical superiority. In the semifinals, he overcame Georgia’s Luka Saginadze with a 5:3 victory. Pasha will wrestle his Armenian namesake Pasha Khudoyan in the final.
Punhan Shahmarov (48 kg) earned wins against Hungary’s Vencel Olas (11:3), Belarus’ Nazar Krishnyov (5:3), and Türkiye’s Mehmet Dedeoglu (6:0). However, he lost to Russia’s Feliks Tuayev (1:10) in the semifinals and will compete for bronze tomorrow.
Rasul Ahmadli (52 kg) suffered a narrow 1:2 defeat to Türkiye’s Muhammed Ozen in the round of 16.
Sadiq Valizada (57 kg) advanced to the semifinals after victories over Great Britain’s Paul Hanlon (8:0) and Türkiye’s Yusuf Sariyar (9:5). In the bout for a place in the final, Sadiq was defeated by Russia’s Raybek Muchurayev – 2:13.
Raul Mammadzada (62 kg) beat Bulgaria’s Grigor Simeonov (9:1), but lost 1:5 to Georgia’s Gabriel Tavberidze in the quarterfinals. Since his opponent advanced to the final, Raul will compete in the repechage tomorrow.
