Three gold and two bronze medal chances at the European championships

The U17 European Wrestling Championships continue in Samokov, Bulgaria.
On the fifth day of competition, the finalists in freestyle wrestling were determined in the 48 kg, 55 kg, 65 kg, 80 kg, and 110 kg weight categories.
Huseyn Rzazada (48 kg) advanced to the final after giving no chance to Georgia’s Lasha Koridze (9:0), Türkiye’s Yigit Egemen (10:0), and Russia’s Asilder Asluyev (10:0). Huseyn will face Ukraine’s Volodymyr Boyko in tomorrow’s decisive bout.
Abbas Shafiyev (55 kg) eliminated Türkiye’s Muhammed Yigit (8:5) and Slovakia’s Patrik Vetrak (6:0), but lost to Armenia’s Suren Ishkhanyan in the semifinals – 4:15. Abbas will compete for the bronze medal tomorrow. His opponent will be the winner of the bout between Issa Churayev (France) and Kirill Shumeyko (Hungary).
Rashid Nazarov (65 kg) defeated Georgia’s Bidzina Jintcharadze on criteria (2:2), before overcoming Türkiye’s Aydincan Gumushdag (7:3) and Ukraine’s Teymur Abumislimov (3:1). In the semifinals, Rashid defeated France’s Sasha Obery ahead of time (10:0). Nazarov will wrestle Russia’s Maksim Mongush in tomorrow’s final.
Nihad Suleymanli (80 kg) booked his place in the final after victories over Georgia’s Rati Revazashvili (7:2), Hungary’s Zeteny Tugyi (7:0), and Russia’s Rajab Rajabov (2:0). Nihad will face Türkiye’s Emirhan Cayir in the final.
Hakim Taghiyev (110 kg) defeated Russia’s Magomed Omarov (2:1) and Slovakia’s Adam Kosan (4:1), but lost to Georgia’s Murtaz Bagdavadze in the semifinals with a score of 0:3. Our representative will compete for third place tomorrow against either Romania’s Marcu Vintan or Belarus’ Daniil Zhivula.
