New Committee established at the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation

The Ethics and Discipline Committee of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation (AWF) has been established.
The first meeting of the Ethics and Discipline Committee (the Committee), formed with a five-member composition by the decision of the Executive Committee of the AWF, has been held. The meeting was attended by Committee Chairman Huseyn Aliyev (Public Relations Specialist), members – Hasanaga Rzayev (Head of the Sports Department of the National Olympic Committee), Khazar Isayev (Chairman of the Fair Play Commission of the National Olympic Committee), Firdovsi Umudov (Honored Coach and Master of Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan), and Alibaba Aliyev (member of the Azerbaijan Bar Association and Secretary of the Committee), as well as AWF Secretary General Parvin Piriyev.
During the meeting, the Code of Ethics, the Committee’s Charter, and the Disciplinary and Dispute Resolution Regulations approved by the decision of the Executive Committee of the AWF were discussed. An exchange of views was held regarding the implementation of these internal documents, and the future directions of the Committee’s activities were also determined.
For information, it should be noted that the Committee, elected for a four-year term, will primarily be responsible for the assessment of unethical behavior, organization of preventive measures, implementation of educational initiatives, oversight of Fair Play and ethical principles, supervision of safeguarding matters, and making decisions regarding sanctions.
