Ruzanna Mammadova finished as European runner-Up

The U23 European Wrestling Championship continues in the city of Zrenjanin, Serbia.

On the fifth day of the competition, two of our women wrestlers competed in decisive matches.

Nargiz Samedova (53 kg) lost to Turkey’s Shevval Cayir (0:12) in the bronze medal bout and finished in fifth place.

Ruzanna Mammadova’s (62 kg) final match was a tense battle. She was defeated by Russia’s Amina Tandelova with a score of 3:5 and claimed the silver medal.

Thus, our national team concluded the European Championship with 3 medals. It should be recalled that yesterday Gunay Gurbanova (59 kg) won gold, while Gultekin Shirinova (55 kg) secured silver.
