Gunay Gurbanova became European champion again

The U23 European Wrestling Championship continues in the city of Zrenjanin, Serbia.

On the fourth day of the competition, two of our women wrestlers competed in the finals.

Gultekin Shirinova (55 kg) was unable to overcome Hungary’s Gerda Terek in the decisive match (0:11) and claimed the silver medal.

Gunay Gurbanova’s (59 kg) final bout against Belarus’s Marta Hetmanava was held in a tense atmosphere. Our wrestler defeated her opponent by a narrow margin (2:1), repeated last year’s result, and became the U23 European champion once again by defending her title.
