Gultekin and Gunay in the European championship final

The U23 European Wrestling Championship continues in the city of Zrenjanin, Serbia.

On the third day of the competition, our women wrestlers competing in the 50, 55, and 59 kg weight categories stepped onto the mat.

Asmar Jankurtaran (50 kg) lost in the quarterfinal to Romania’s Ana Maria Rotaru with a score of 2:11.

Gultekin Shirinova (55 kg) defeated Bulgaria’s Nesrin Sebaydinova Suleymanova (6:1) and Moldova’s Mihaela Samoil (7:3) to advance to the final. Gultekin will face Hungary’s Gerda Terek in the decisive match tomorrow.

Gunay Gurbanova (59 kg) secured early victories against Russia’s Yekaterina Radishova (12:0), Bulgaria’s Viktoriya Boynova (by fall), and Romania’s Ana Maria Puiu (by fall). Gunay will compete against Belarus’s Marta Hetmanava in the final.
