Our referees promoted to category I

Azerbaijani wrestling refereeing has achieved another success.

Two of our referees have been promoted to Category I. Eldar Bayramov successfully officiated at the Spain “Grand Prix” this year (July 4–6), while Ali Babayev ensured fair play at the “Poland Open” tournament (July 30 – August 3). Alongside their duties on the mat, both referees successfully passed the exams organized by United World Wrestling (UWW). Until now, they had been officiating as Category II referees, but starting next year, they will manage matches with Category I status.

This promotion will allow them to take part in European and World Championships in the U17, U20, and U23 age groups, as well as in ranking tournaments, beginning next year.
