Azerbaijani Cadet Wrestlers Set to Compete at World Championship
Next week marks the first world wrestling championship of the year.
The U17 World Championships will be hosted in Athens, the capital of Greece, from July 28 to August 3, where the strongest cadet wrestlers from around the globe will be determined.
The competition will kick off with Greco-Roman wrestling. Representing Azerbaijan under the guidance of head coach Taleh Israfilov and coaches Rasim Agayev, Elbrus Mammadov, and Nazim Ahmadov will be: Abdurrahman Huseynli (45 kg), Gurban Majnunov (48 kg), Hikmat Hagverdiyev (51 kg), Nihat Bahmanov (55 kg), Ali Nazarov (60 kg), Huseyn Isgandarov (65 kg), Yusif Ahmadli (71 kg), Nijat Yeylagaliyev (80 kg), Said Pashayev (92 kg), and Rihad Ibrahimli (110 kg).
Later, under the supervision of head coach Hasrat Mammad-yarov, female wrestlers Nazrin Ahmadli (46 kg), Fatima Bayramova (53 kg), and Esra Mammadli (57 kg) will step onto the mat.
In the final days of the championship, freestyle wrestlers will take the stage. Competing under the direction of head coach Asgar-khan Novruzov and coaches Vahid Mammadov and Yashar Aliyev will be: Sadiq Ismayilov (45 kg), Ravan Hasanzadeh (48 kg), Ramal Mirhuseynov (51 kg), Ruslan Alizadeh (55 kg), Hasan Hasanov (60 kg), Huseyn Ismayilov (65 kg), Rashad Veysalov (71 kg), Nihad Suleymanli (80 kg), Said Pashayev (92 kg), and Hakim Taghiyev (110 kg).
International category referees Elman Ismayilov and Natig Hajiyev will officiate matches at the World Championships.
