Ruzanna Mammadova Reaches the Final of the European Championship

The U20 European Championship continues in Caorle, Italy.

On the fourth day of competition, three members of the women’s wrestling national team joined the action.

Gular Habibova (57 kg) was defeated by Hungary’s Anna Koeblo in the qualification round with a score of 0:10.

Ruzanna Mammadova (62 kg) advanced to the final after pinning Czech wrestler Tereza Mrackova, defeating Belarusian Karina Fishchuk 4:0, and edging past Russian Yekaterina Radysheva 3:2. Ruzanna will face Germany’s Leoni Steigert in tomorrow’s final.

Joining the tournament from the quarterfinals, Zahra Karimzada (72 kg) lost 2:8 to Sweden’s Elvira Ersson. Since her opponent qualified for the final, Zahra will wrestle against Croatia’s Veronika Vilk in the repechage match tomorrow.
