A bronze medal chance at the world championship for two of our wrestlers

The U-20 World Wrestling Championship continues in Pontevedra, Spain.
On the second day of the competition, Greco-Roman wrestlers in the 60, 67, 72, 82, and 97 kg weight categories took to the mat.
Tural Ahmadov (60 kg) defeated Spaniard David Sanchez with a score of 4-3 to advance to the round of 16 but lost to Iranian Mohammadmehdi Gholampour in this round with a score of 1-5. Since his opponent reached the final, Tural has a chance to compete for third place. However, to do so, Ahmadov must first defeat Polish wrestler Dominik Partika in tomorrow’s consolation match.
Tavakkul Haziyev (67 kg) achieved a confident victory over Kyrgyzstan’s Bayaman Kerimov (10-0) in his debut but was unable to continue this success, losing to Japan’s Kojiro Hasegawa in the round of 16 with a score of 3-7.
Ruslan Nurullayev (72 kg) secured a dominant victory (9-1) against Moldova’s Vasile Zabika in the first round. He then showed his strength against India’s Akash Punia (5-3). In the quarterfinals, Nurullayev left no chance for Croatia’s Luka Ivancic, winning 8-0, but lost in the semifinals to Armenia’s Ashot Khachatryan with a score of 1-4. Tomorrow, Ruslan will compete for the bronze medal. His opponent will be either Gunhee Lee (Korea), Rokas Cepauskas (Lithuania), or Wenhao Hu (China).
