Two Wrestlers from Our Team Reach the European Championship Final

The U17 European Championship continues in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia.
Today, Greco-Roman wrestlers in the 45, 51, 60, 71, and 92 kg categories joined the competition.
Abdurrahman Huseynli (45 kg) achieved dominant victories over Ukraine’s Ihor Tutsaniuk (9:0) and Moldova’s Vadim Tarelunga (8:0), advancing to the semifinals. The 15-year-old wrestler then secured a confident 9:2 win against Russia’s Artyom Tkachenko in the semifinals. Abdurrahman will face Georgia’s Saba Abashidze in tomorrow’s final.
Elshad Abbasov (51 kg) defeated Poland’s Maciej Grinia (9:0) and Turkey’s Serkan Gulle (17:9) with commanding performances to secure a semifinal spot. However, Elshad fell short in the semifinals against Armenia’s Marat Atshemyan, losing 0:10. Abbasov will compete for the bronze medal against the winner of the match between Hungary’s Keve Kovacs and Moldova’s Iosif Stratan.
Ali Nazarov (60 kg) claimed a 4:1 victory over Ukraine’s Denys Seredin and an 8:0 technical superiority win against Moldova’s Vlad Duminca to reach the semifinals. In the semifinal match, Ali emerged victorious over Turkey’s Abdul Arslantas with a 3:1 score. Nazarov will compete in the final against Armenia’s Hayk Manukyan.
Yusif Ahmadli (71 kg) and Said Pashayev (92 kg) faced early eliminations. Ahmadli was narrowly defeated by Armenia’s Roman Usoyan in the qualification round (5:5, based on last-point criteria), while Pashayev lost to Turkey’s Ahmet Uzun in the 1/8 finals (3:3, based on last-point criteria).
