Two More Wrestlers from Azerbaijan Advance to European Championship Final

The U17 European Championship continues in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia.
On the sixth day of the tournament, freestyle wrestlers in the 45, 51, 60, 71, and 92 kg weight classes began their matches.
Omar Usubov (45 kg) entered the competition from the quarterfinals, defeating Ukraine’s Daniil Lutsyk 3:0 to advance to the semifinals. However, he fell short against Russia’s Umar Rabadanov, losing 5:12. Usubov will wrestle for bronze tomorrow against Armenia’s Aren Piruzyan.
Ramal Mirhuseynov (51 kg) secured a dominant technical victory (10:0) over Greece’s Michail Kokologiannis but lost 3:5 to Russia’s Akhmed Naibarov in the quarterfinals. With Naibarov advancing to the final, Mirhuseynov will compete in the repechage round tomorrow against Turkey’s Bugra Kavak.
Hasan Hasanov (60 kg) displayed stellar performances, defeating North Macedonia’s Mario Ananiev by technical superiority (11:0) and Armenia’s Razmik Voskanyan 3:1 to reach the semifinals. Hasanov overcame Russia’s Abdulla Delekov with a 4:0 victory to secure his spot in the final, where he will face Ukraine’s Zorab Aloyev.
Isa Yusibov (71 kg) pinned Belarus’s Artyom Bolsun but fell short in the quarterfinals against Turkey’s Omer Gul, losing 4:9.
Said Pashayev (92 kg) achieved a technical victory (10:0) over Slovakia’s Patrik Urbanek and defeated Romania’s Magor Lorinc 4:2 to progress to the semifinals. Pashayev dominated Ukraine’s David Lutskov with a 10:0 win, advancing to the final, where he will wrestle Russia’s Abdurazak Shabanov.
