A general seminar of departments was held in Sumgayit

The republican seminar of wrestling coaches continues.

The next stage of the seminar was held today in Sumgayit city. In addition to Sumgayit, wrestling coaches and teachers from Absheron, Khizi, Zangilan, Jabrayil, Kalbajar, Gubadli and Lachin participated in the event.

The theoretical part of the seminar was held in the conference hall of the Sumgayit city stadium named after Mehdi Huseynzade. Vahid Abdullayev, head of the sports department of the Absheron-Khizi Regional Youth and Sports Department, and Zakir Mammadov, head of the sports department of the East Zangezur Regional Youth and Sports Department, spoke about the importance of this project of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation and wished it to be sustainable. Elfag Safarov, regional coordinator of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation (AWF), touched upon the steps taken recently for the development of this sport and future plans. Garib Aliyev, chairman of the AWF Referees’ Board, brought certain rules related to refereeing to the attention of the coaches. The senior coach of the Greco-Roman wrestling team Rovshan Bayramov and the coach of the U-20 freestyle wrestling team Rovshan Hajiyev shared their experiences with their colleagues. I-S category referee Sadi Guliyev analyzed the decisions made against the background of the demonstration of videos of controversial matches.

The practical part of the seminar took place at the “Aluminiumchu” Sports House. R. Hajiyev demonstrated the precise execution of freestyle and R. Bayramov demonstrated the precise execution of Greco-Roman wrestling tricks.

It should be noted that the next stage of the All-Republican seminar of wrestling coaches will be held on November 20 in the city of Mingachevir.
