Six Medals in One Day at Traditional Tournament

The Yasar Dogu, Vehbi Emre, and Hamit Kaplan Memorial Tournament continues in Kocaeli, Turkey.

On the second day of the traditional event, competitions in Greco-Roman and women’s wrestling concluded.

Of the seven Azerbaijani athletes competing today, six climbed the podium.

In Greco-Roman wrestling, Nihad Quluzade (60 kg) and Muhammad Shukurzade (67 kg) secured silver medals, while Lachin Valiyev (87 kg) claimed bronze.
In women’s wrestling, Elnura Mammadova (53 kg) took silver, with Nargiz Samedova (53 kg) and Birgul Soltanova (62 kg) earning bronze medals.

Notably, on the first day of the competition, Asmar Cankurtaran (50 kg) and Gultekin Shirinova (55 kg) finished in fifth place.

The final two days of the tournament will feature freestyle wrestling competitions.
