Jale Aliyeva Shared Her Goals

An interview with Jale Aliyeva, a member of the women’s national wrestling team:
– You recently participated in a training camp in Turkey alongside athletes from several countries. How would you evaluate the preparation process?
– Our training sessions with the Turkish national team were organized at a very high level. Athletes from Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan also joined the camp. Unfortunately, I couldn’t participate until the end due to an injury. I will continue treatment in Baku to recover from this injury as quickly as possible.
– You were also injured during the semifinals of the European Championship. Could this injury affect your performance in upcoming competitions?
– I sustained a rib injury during the European Championship. However, I believe the injury has already healed. I don’t think it will significantly affect me when I step back onto the mat.
– Do you plan to compete in the year’s final ranking tournament in Hungary next month?
– Yes, I intend to wrestle in that tournament.
– You made your debut at the Senior World Championship in 2022, finishing fifth. Now that you have more experience, can we expect a medal this time?
– The World Championship is an extremely tough competition, bringing together the best wrestlers globally. Of course, every athlete enters with the goal of winning a medal. I will do my utmost to be among the medalists.
– Who do you consider your main competitors at the World Championship? Are you preparing specifically for them?
– Wrestling is developing rapidly in many countries, so I believe all opponents should be taken seriously. Preparation must be approached with great diligence.
– Three years ago, you won gold at the Islamic Solidarity Games. This year, the competition will be held in Saudi Arabia. Can you defend your title?
– I prepared very strongly for that event and believed in my victory. There are still more than four months to go. To repeat this achievement, I need to be even stronger and prepare at the highest level. I believe that if I continue this way, I can bring my second gold medal from the Islamic Solidarity Games to my homeland.
