Freestyle wrestlers performed successfully in the Gymnasium

The wrestling competitions at the Gymnasiade held in Manama, the capital of Bahrain, have begun.

Freestyle wrestlers delivered a successful performance. Under the leadership of head coach Asgar Khan Novruzov and coach Yashar Aliyev, the team of 11 wrestlers saw each member reach the podium.

Huseyn Huseynov (55 kg) and Hasan Hasanov (60 kg) became champions. Farhad Suleymanli (92 kg) won a silver medal. Revan Hasanzada (48 kg), Ramal Mirhuseynov (51 kg), Huseyn Ismayilov, Farid Agasizade (both 65 kg), Nihad Abbasov, Rashad Veysallov (both 71 kg), Nihad Suleymanli (80 kg), and Hakim Taghiyev (110 kg) secured bronze medals.

With a total of 11 medals (2 gold, 1 silver, and 8 bronze), our team outperformed all other teams in this category.
