Freestyle Wrestlers Begin European Championship with 2 Golds and 1 Bronze

The U17 European Championship in Skopje, North Macedonia, nears its conclusion.
Today, the champions in five freestyle weight categories were determined.
Revan Hasan-zade (48 kg) faced Armenia’s Artak Agabekyan in the final. Securing a 4:0 victory, Revan was crowned European Champion.
Ruslan Alizade (55 kg) wrestled Russia’s Makhach Abdullayev in a highly contested final. With a narrow 3:2 win, Ruslan claimed the gold medal and the top spot on the podium.
Tunar Nasibov (65 kg) defeated Georgia’s Saba Tkemaladze by pin in the repechage round. However, in the bronze medal match, he fell short against Turkey’s Ismail Mertkolu, losing 2:4.
Hakim Taghiyev (110 kg) triumphed over Hungary’s Gyoergy Juhasz in the bronze medal match with a 2:0 victory.
With one day remaining in the competition, Azerbaijan’s team has confidently secured 2 golds and 1 bronze, strengthening their position in the championship.
