Azerbaijani Wrestlers to Compete in Traditional Tournament

From June 26 to 29, the Yasar Dogu, Vehbi Emre, and Hamit Kaplan Memorial Tournament will be held in Kocaeli, Turkey.

Members of the Azerbaijani national team will participate in all three wrestling disciplines at this prestigious annual event.

The Greco-Roman wrestling team, led by coach Elvin Mursaliev, includes:

60 kg: Nihad Guluzadeh

67 kg: Mohammad Shukurzadeh

87 kg: Lachin Veliev, Joju Samedov

The women’s wrestling team, under the guidance of head coach Agahuseyn Mustafayev, features:

50 kg: Asmar Jankurtaran

53 kg: Elnura Mammadova, Nargiz Samedova

55 kg: Gultekhin Shirinova

62 kg: Birgul Soltanova

The freestyle wrestling team, coached by Taymuraz Kokoyev, comprises:

79 kg: Farid Jabbarov, Jabrayil Hajiev, Sabuhi Amiraslanov

86 kg: Ali Tsokayev

92 kg: Sadiq Mustafazadeh

97 kg: Zafer Aliyev

125 kg: Khetag Karsanov

Matches will begin daily at 12:00 PM Baku time, with medal rounds starting at 6:30 PM.

International referees from Azerbaijan, Elgun Mammadov and Shamil Fattayev, will officiate during the tournament.
