AGF provided another wrestling hall with inventory

The Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation (AWF) is taking measures aimed at discovering young talents, creating a competitive environment, and improving the material-technical base.

As part of these efforts, AWF officials visited the wrestling hall located in the village of Shorsulu in the Salyan region.

The sports club, named after national wrestler Yashar Javadov, was provided with essential equipment by the AWF. The two-story sports hall has been equipped with the necessary conditions for both tactical-technical and physical training. Approximately 80 young athletes from 7 villages in the Salyan and Neftchala regions (Shorsulu, Boranikend, Qachagkend, Qazakhbare, Dayikend, Seyidler, and Sarvan) are learning the secrets of freestyle wrestling under the guidance of coach Tural Javadov from the Salyan UGISHM.

During the event, the head coach of the U-20 national freestyle wrestling team, Arif Abdullayev, the AWF’s regional coordinator, Elfaq Safarov, the director of Salyan UGISHM, Bilal Alekbarov, the leading advisor of the youth and sports department of the Shirvan-Salyan Regional Youth and Sports Administration for the Salyan region, Elmar Abilov, and the AWF’s regional representative, Ilham Mammadov, inspected the conditions of the hall, exchanged views, and shared their recommendations with the coaches and athletes.

It is worth noting that before this, AWF officials had visited Goranboy, Imishli, and Gabala to meet with wrestlers and coaches, and their visits to the regions will continue.
