Abdurrahman Crowned Champion, Ali Claims Silver Medal

The U17 European Championship continues in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia.
The third day marked the conclusion of the Greco-Roman wrestling competition.
Abdurrahman Huseynli (45 kg) faced Georgia’s Saba Abashidze in the final. The 15-year-old wrestler secured a decisive victory in the first period with a 9:0 score, earning the European Championship title.
Elshad Abbasov (51 kg) competed for the bronze medal against Hungary’s Keve Kovacs but fell short with a 1:3 loss, finishing in fifth place.
Ali Nazarov (60 kg) took on Armenia’s Hayk Manukyan in the final. Despite his efforts, Nazarov was defeated 3:11 and claimed the silver medal.
With this, the team concluded the tournament with 2 gold, 1 silver, and 2 bronze medals. It is worth noting that yesterday, Rihad Ibrahimli (110 kg) became the European champion, while Gurban Majnunov (48 kg) and Nijat Yeylagaliyev (80 kg) secured third-place finishes.
The national team finished third in the team rankings with 116 points.
