8 Medals at the Memorial Tournament

The Yashar Dogu, Vehbi Emre, and Hamit Kaplan Memorial Tournament held in Kocaeli, Turkey, has concluded.

On the final day of the traditional competition, national freestyle wrestler Jabrail Hajiyev (79 kg) secured a bronze medal.

With this, the total number of medals won at the Memorial reached eight. Earlier in the tournament, Nihad Guluzade (60 kg) and Mohammad Shukurzade (67 kg) won silver medals in Greco-Roman wrestling, Lachin Valiyev (87 kg) claimed bronze, Elnura Mammadova (53 kg) earned silver in women’s wrestling, and Nargiz Samadova (53 kg) and Birgul Soltanova (62 kg) took bronze. In freestyle wrestling, Ali Tsokayev (86 kg) captured the gold medal.

In total, the team claimed 1 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze medals in the tournament.
