2 medals on the first day of the traditional competition

Behshahr, Iran Hosts “Najad Hashemi Cup” Freestyle Wrestling Tournament

The “Najad Hashemi Cup” freestyle wrestling tournament kicked off in Behshahr, Iran. On the first day of competition, winners were determined in the 57, 65, 74, 86, and 97 kg weight categories.

Athletes from seven countries participated in the traditional tournament, with two members of the U20 national team earning podium finishes on the opening day. Omar Gulmammadov (74 kg) secured a silver medal, while Sadraddin Hasanov (57 kg) claimed bronze.

Vasif Bagirov and Huseyn Huseynov (both 57 kg) and Mahammad Abbaszada (86 kg) finished in fifth place.

Today, medalists in the 61, 70, 79, 92, and 125 kg categories will be determined.
