Beach wrestling

Beach wrestling

It is the youngest form of wrestling. Introduced in 2004, competitions in this wrestling style, unlike others, take place outdoors and on sand.

Beach wrestling differs sharply from other forms of wrestling in terms of time and rules. Here, wrestlers engage in a match for only 3 minutes. The wrestler who achieves 3 points first is declared the winner. Considered a more entertaining sport, beach wrestling has been included in the program of the Youth Olympic Games by the International Olympic Committee. It is not an exception that this form of wrestling will also be part of the Olympic Games program among adults in the near future.

Since 2006, the World Championship in beach wrestling has been held. The world champions are determined based on the points accumulated in the stages of the World Series held throughout the year.
