The Republican seminar of wrestling coaches continues.

The next stage of the seminar was held today in Ganja city. The event was attended by wrestling coaches-teachers from this city, as well as Naftalan, Shamkir, Dashkesan, Goygol, Goranboy and Samukh districts.

Both the theoretical and practical parts of the seminar took place at the Ganja Sports Lyceum. Vugar Khalilov, head of the sports department of the Ganja-Dashkasan Regional Youth and Sports Department, said that the seminar, which is already traditionally held, played a major role in the development of wrestling. Garib Aliyev, chairman of the Referees’ Board, spoke about competition rules, weight categories, exits from the mat, etc. The coach of the U-20 freestyle wrestling national team Nazim Alijanov and the coach of the U-17 Greco-Roman wrestling national team Nazim Ahmadov paid attention to the physical training of wrestlers recruited to the national teams, weight loss and weight change problems. Later, I-S category referee Sadi Guliyev commented on the referee’s decisions made in various matches with video footage.

During the practical part of the event, N. Alijanov trained in freestyle wrestling, and N. Ahmadov trained in Greco-Roman wrestling.

It should be noted that the next stage of the All-Republican seminar of wrestling coaches will be held tomorrow in the city of Tartar.
