The National Seminar of Wrestling Coaches is continuing.
The next stage of the seminar was held today in the city of Gazakh. Wrestling coaches-teachers operating in Gazakh, Tovuz, Agstafa, Gadabay and Shamkir regions participated in the event.
Both the theoretical and practical parts of the seminar took place at the Gazakh Olympic Sports Complex. Aziz Masmaliyev, Head of the Gazakh-Tovuz Regional Youth and Sports Department, said that the seminar will make a great contribution to improving the knowledge and skills of coaches in the region. Garib Aliyev, Chairman of the Board of Judges, spoke about the projects implemented by the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation and noted that the Western region plays a major role in Azerbaijani wrestling. Nazim Alijanov, coach of the U-20 freestyle wrestling national team, and Nazim Ahmadov, coach of the U-17 Greco-Roman wrestling national team, delivered their recommendations to their colleagues from this region. The opinions of local experts were listened to, problems and ways to solve them were voiced, and mutual exchange of views was held. Later, I-S category referee Sadi Guliyev, commenting on the video footage shown at the seminar, touched upon the referee’s decisions made in various matches.
In the practical part of the event, N. Alijanov demonstrated the precise execution of the most commonly used tricks in freestyle wrestling. N. Ahmadov showed the tricks performed on the ground in Greco-Roman wrestling, as well as methods of defending against these tricks.
It should be noted that the next stage of the All-Republican seminar of wrestling coaches will be held tomorrow in Ganja.
