Our beach wrestlers return from Greece with 1 gold and 1 bronze medal

The fourth stage of the Beach Wrestling World Series took place in the city of Katerini, Greece.

Both of our wrestlers, competing under the leadership of head coach Oyan Nazariani, won medals.

Ramiz Hasanov (80 kg) defeated Tyler Loethen from the USA (3-0), Alexandros Spiliotis from Greece (5-0), and Maksim Bres from Ukraine (2-1) to advance to the semifinals as the leader of Group B. He lost to Moldovan Vasile Diacon (1-3) in the semifinals but defeated Bres again (3-0) to secure the bronze medal.

Ibrahim Yusubov (90 kg) achieved maximum results in Group A. He overpowered two-time beach wrestling world champion Kevin Gremm from Germany (3-0), Demid Karachenko from Ukraine (3-0), and Asahi Imamura from Japan (3-0). In the semifinals, Ibrahim defeated Moldovan Traian Kapatina (3-1) and went on to win the final against Mahmut Özkaya from Turkey (3-0). With this victory, Yusubov claimed his first gold medal in the World Series this season.

Thus, our beach wrestlers returned from Katerini with one gold and one bronze medal. The final stage of the World Series will be held in Poreč, Croatia, on October 12-13.
