The U-20 World Wrestling Championship continues in Pontevedra, Spain.
On the second day of the competition, the first medalists in Greco-Roman wrestling have been determined.
Rahim Hasanov (55 kg) achieved a dominant victory (10-1) over China’s Huoying Shi in the consolation match. However, in the bronze medal match, he lost to Russia’s Alibek Amirov (0-10) and finished the championship in 5th place.
Muhammad Shukurzade (63 kg) lost 1-3 in the consolation match against Iran’s Erfan Jarkani, while Mazaim Mardanov (130 kg) was defeated 0-9 by Kyrgyzstan’s Samagan Ormonov in his consolation match.
Cocu Samedov (87 kg) faced Kazakhstan’s Asan Janishov in the final. After losing to his opponent (0-8), our wrestler claimed the silver medal.
