Hüseyn Hüseynov (55 kg) defeated Turkmenistan’s Azatberdi Ashirguliyev in the opening match with a score of 3:1. Our compatriot then left no chance to Tunisian Mokbel Sahli, winning 11:1. However, Hüseyn was defeated in the semifinals by Puerto Rican Josef Baxman with a score of 2:5. Hüseynov claimed third place in the World Championship by defeating Armenian Gagik Ghazaryan with a score of 2:1.

İsa Yusibov (65 kg) lost to Kazakhstan’s Bakdaulet Akimjan in the 1/8 finals with a score of 0:6.

Məhəmməd Abbaszadə (80 kg) was defeated by Georgia’s Nikolas Masuradze in his debut match with a score of 1:7. Since his opponent advanced to the final, our wrestler entered the consolation rounds. Abbaszadə first pinned Mongolia’s Ganbat Tserenpuntsag and then defeated India’s Vivek Viveki (10:0) before time ran out, leaving his opponents disappointed. The bronze medal match was intense. Məhəmməd lost to Ukraine’s Artur Kostyuk by technical points (5:5) and finished in 5th place.

Muxamad Qantemirov (110 kg) lost to American Michael Mokko in the 1/8 finals with a score of 6:16. Belarusian Yaraslav Kokhan did not show up for the consolation match, so Qantemirov advanced directly to the bronze medal match.
