Huseyn became the second in the world, Ravan took the third place

The U-17 World Championship held in Amman, the capital of Jordan, has come to an end.

On the final day of the competition, our freestyle wrestlers won 1 silver and 1 bronze medal.

Ravan Hasan-zadeh (45 kg) defeated Levan Nozadze from Georgia (pin), Ochirhuu Badar from Mongolia (6:3), and Kirill Nikitsik from Belarus (12:2) to advance to the semifinals. Just one step away from the final, Ravan lost to Amirabbas Ramezanibazarmahalleh from Iran by a score of 2:4. However, in the bronze medal match, he defeated Bekzat Amangeldy from Kazakhstan by pinfall and claimed third place on the podium.

Muhammad Ismayilov (51 kg) won against Sam Arshadgasabsarayi from Iran by a score of 5:4 but was defeated in the quarterfinals by Marlen Abdraimov from Kyrgyzstan on the last point principle (4:4).

Huseyn Ismayilov (60 kg) reached the final after victories over Danush Jovkar from Great Britain (4:1), Farhad Khateri from Iran (3:2), and Hayk Avanesyan from Armenia (4:2). In the final match, Huseyn lost to Omurbek Uulu from Kyrgyzstan by a score of 1:5 and received the silver medal.

Nihad Abasov (71 kg) was defeated by Melvin Miller from the USA (0:11) in the round of 16, and Farhad Suleymanli (92 kg) lost to John Diakomihalis, another American, in the qualification round (3:7).

Thus, our national team concluded the World Championship with 1 silver and 3 bronze medals. It is worth noting that the day before, Huseyn Huseynov (55 kg) and Mukhammad Kantemirov (110 kg) also became world bronze medalists. Our team finished in the top 5 in the team standings with 77 points.
